Bei Nostr („Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays“) ist deine Identität ein Schlüsselpaar, das du selbst hast, kein Konto bei einer Firma. Du signierst Beiträge und Nachrichten mit deinem Schlüssel und schickst sie an Relays, Server, die jeder betreiben kann, und jede Nostr-App kann sie lesen: Wechselst du die App, kommen deine Follower und Nachrichten mit. Dein Schlüssel kann in einer eigenen Signer-App bleiben, sodass die Apps, die du ausprobierst, ihn nie sehen. Viele Nostr-Apps senden und empfangen außerdem Bitcoin über Lightning („Zaps“), und Zapstore ist ein App-Store auf Nostr-Basis.
