Accrescent
A security- and privacy-focused Android app store, still in alpha.
- Android
What is Accrescent?
Accrescent is an open-source Android app store built around security: it pins each app’s signing key from the first install, signs its repository metadata, and developers keep their own signing keys. Updates install automatically on Android 12 and later, without special system privileges.
No account is needed. Its catalogue is small and hand-picked; Accrescent is still in alpha. It is the recommended way to get it on GrapheneOS through the GrapheneOS App Store.
How to get Accrescent
- 1 It needs Android 10 or later.
- 2 On GrapheneOS, install it from the GrapheneOS App Store; elsewhere, download the APK from accrescent.app or its GitHub releases and allow your browser to install unknown apps.
- 3 Accrescent links (accrescent.app/app/…) then open straight in the app.
